OUR MISSION

Despite the fact that we need to sleep, how and why we sleep remains a mystery.

Specific patterns of synchronized neuronal activity amongst networks distributed throughout the brain define the states of non-rapid eye movement-(NREM) and rapid eye movement-(REM) sleep.
We want to understand the mechanisms underlying brain control of sleep by studying the wiring dynamic, plasticity and function of sleep circuits.
